KIDS YOGA
Kids’ yoga will be held every Sunday this February from 11-12 at our Alamo Heights studio. We will provide mats, but children are welcome to bring their own. Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement.
All classes will include sun salutations, breathing exercises, and introduce strategies for children to learn how to focus.
Each class will introduce new ideas and new activities, and although the lessons may change according to class dynamic and attendance, the basic outline for each class is as follows. Feel free to choose classes you think your child will like best or attend all four for a discounted rate!
February 5:
Learning basic yoga postures by using our “yoga dice”
Mantra Me (introducing concepts for a positive self-image)
February 12:
Learning basic yoga postures
Mandala making in groups (introducing cooperative work; focus; creativity)
February 19:
Partner yoga/synergy yoga
(parents are welcome to attend and we will have extra teachers to help kids “fly” in yoga postures!)
Yoga games involving balance and focus
February 26:
What do your parents do? (will introduce some of the Bikram postures – don’t worry there will be no heat!)
Storytime yoga (introducing yoga through storytelling)
