LaToya Adams

Perpetually pinned as the “crazy one”, Latoya is a fun-loving spirit who can always be heard laughing or seen dancing.  Born and raised in Germany, she moved to San Antonio June 2005 to continue her education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. There she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology in 2007.  She later took science courses at San Antonio College, in pursuit of a second degree in Dietetics.  The degree never happened but the interest in science still remains.  Latoya loves to read about microbiological organisms and the plethora of diseases they induce.

Looking for a supplement to her workout routine, Latoya tried Bikram Yoga in 2009.  She was a follower from the beginning.  From her first class, Latoya knew she was going to teach this yoga.  It completely replaced all her usual workouts: running, weight lifting, and kickboxing.  The best thing is that she now perceives the physical aspect of yoga as an added bonus to what it does for her mentally and spiritually.  She finally found a way to tone up the entire outer body, all while tuning up the inner body!  Though the postures never change, the person does.  Each class brings a new opportunity to challenge the mind and body to work together as one, a factor of Bikram Yoga that is unparalleled in other forms of exercise.  At last she is able to spread the joy of yoga to the world…even better that it’s at BYSA!

In her spare time, you can find her serving up pancakes at local breakfast joint, Magnolia Pancake Haus.  Latoya is married to a lovely man named Eric, with whom she shares the love of their pup, Granger.  She enjoys reading any chance she can get, devours anything chocolate, and will dance the night away as long as the music keeps flowing.
